The
International Business Department of Southern Taiwan University of Science and
Technology held the 2017 Pacific Business Forum to discuss the theme
"Opportunities and Challenges for New Southbound Policy" under the
trend of international politics and economics. The event was co-organized by
Chinese Taipei Pacific Economic Cooperation Committee (CTPECC), Tainan City SME
Honorary Instructor Association, Taiwan Economic Research Institute, and
Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, with more than 200
participants from industry and academia totaling. The forum focused on the
recent international political and economic development trends, analyzed the
challenges and opportunities faced by Chinese manufacturers, and responded to
the government's new southbound policy, which shows the business opportunities
in Southeast Asian countries. This forum would help the community grasp the
thinking of the new government's economic development; it would also enhance
the link between Taiwan and the global community, creating a new era for our future.
