She graduated from the China Medical University (Taiwan) in 1997 with a degree in Physical Therapy before completing a master's degree in Business Administration in Marketing (1999) at City University (USA) and a PhD in Sport and Leisure Policy (2007) at Loughborough University (UK).
From 2000-2003 she was Product Manager of Uni-President Enterprises Corp (Taiwan), and from 2008-2009 she was Senior Research Associate of Centre for Olympic Studies and Research at Loughborough University (UK). From 2024 she is Part-time Professors at Bachelor Program of International Sports Affairs at National Taiwan University.
Ling-Mei Ko’s principal research interests are focused in issues relating to sport policies, politics, and governance at the transnational and national levels, and in relation to Olympism and Olympic policy.
