Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology organized an international student training camp before international freshman students began their first year. They came from Germany, Austria, Croatia, Japan, Mongolia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Russia, France, Gambia, and Thailand, a total of 27 international students coming here in pursuit of a degree at STUST or to learn Chinese. Together with the freshmen students this year, more than 260 international students are currently studying at STUST, which thus seems to have become a small global village.
